“Lucy has been amazing with progressing our training with our rescue pit bull and making light bulbs go off for me and my dog! We had tried other training classes before but with a reactive dog you really just need a personal approach and one on one with your dog and that trainer and that is what Lucy provides. My dog can be fearful of new people but when she sees Lucy she’s always excited. It’s crazy to think about the confidence and general manners my dog has gained since starting her training. We are still on our training journey but knowing Lucy will be by our side makes it that much more easy.”

“My dog suffered from severe reactivity issues due to anxiety and a lack of trusting leadership. With guidance from Lucy, my dog and I have been able to grow our relationship, address behavioral issues (big and small), and create a true bond with each other. The training that we received has changed our lives. I strongly recommend Leashes with Lucy to any pup parent that is looking to make lasting, healthy, and fun growth with their dog.”

“We adopted our buddy Paxton during the pandemic. He was 19 months and unfortunately we were his third home in that short time. He is a wonderful, sweet dog and we are very thankful to have him as part of our family however, after a short time, it became apparent that he had a lot of trust issues and didn't seem to have much training, if at all. Going on walks seemed to be a new experience for him. He constantly pulled to the point of choking himself no matter what type of collar or lead we used. He also wouldn't listen to any direction. More concerning was that we realized Pax was a highly reactive dog. Both when he came into contact with other dogs, but also sometimes with humans as well. His behavior became so unpredictable and unmanageable that family members slowly stopped wanting to take him for walks. Leashes with Lucy was recommended to us and we are so thankful!

We originally signed up for the Advanced Private Program but shortly after we started Lucy created a new training option called the Homeschool Program. After hearing about what it offered, we jumped on the opportunity to participate. With that option, Lucy came to our home and worked privately with Paxton for 1 - 1 1/2 hours Monday - Thursday. Lucy videotaped the sessions and then would send them to us each night so we could review and understand the guidance. Then at the end of the week, she would meet with our family in person to go through the lessons to make sure we understood the process and work on any areas that needed additional direction. We saw progress quickly with this program and it was so convenient.
Lucy was so amazing. She created a high level of trust with Pax and they developed a close bond. He would do anything for her! In addition to getting Paxton on the right path with the foundational and walking commands, Lucy did such an impressive job of understanding what some of his anxiety and reaction triggers were. She used tons of patience and worked with him through a lot of various levels of interactions. (Front Yard, around the neighborhood, Parks, Lowes). At the end, she had him on walks with other dogs! We have always wanted to include Pax in the various activities of our life, like baseball/soccer games, fishing at the lake but had given up hope that would be possible. We understand now why Pax behaved the way he did and have the knowledge and tools around it. We go on walks, go to parks, etc all of the time now and enjoy it. All thanks to Lucy. She's so good! You won't regret it.”

“I’m so glad I found Lucy when I did! Having a dog with anxiety who is also basically a pandemic puppy, I definitely needed help. She asked me about my goals with Milo and also listened to all of my questions and concerns. She always made sure that I was comfortable with and understood everything we were doing with Milo. We both enjoyed working with Lucy so much. With her help, we now have a good foundation, and I know how to help Milo through tough spots. I’m looking forward to working with her more as Milo and I continue to build our skills and relationship, and I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to improve their life with their dog.”

“I can honestly say that I was an overwhelmed ‘dog mom’. I grew up with dogs my entire life and thought I would be able to train Maddie, our 6 month old rescue, when we adopted her. However, I was frazzled with her energy and with the behaviors she displayed. Going out on walks was embarrassing-I couldn’t help Maddie through her anxiety and her behaviors. I pulled out all the tricks in the book and would load up on treats for a stroll around our neighborhood. But, every time Maddie saw people, dogs, or even heard dogs barking in the distance, she would go into panic mode and start barking/crying as loud as she could. I consulted with trainers in the past and even had Maddie enrolled in a couple of group classes to help with socialization, but nothing was helping. I was desperate for help. I stumbled across Lucy as a recommended trainer n the area. So, of course, I explored her website and I had a good feeling. I am so delighted that I trusted my instincts and reached out to Lucy for help.

Maddie and I did the Homeschool Program and it was amazing!! Lucy was able to see the reactions that Maddie would display in the home and around the neighborhood and start working on training in live time. I would get videos of her reactions, how to work through her anxieties, how to correct behaviors, and how to improve her listening. Lucy also used a lot of play instead of food which is a different approach than in the past and it works beautifully. Maddie’s listening and anxiety has improved, I’m no longer embarrassed when going on walks, both Maddie and I are more confident when we are outside of the house, and our bond is as strong as it has ever been.

If you are considering trying Lucy, I highly recommend you do! She has done a phenomenal job and I am forever grateful for the knowledge that she has shared with me. Maddie also greatly approves of her and enjoyed her one on one time spent with Lucy!”

“Structure, communication and compassion are the three words that come to mind after going through training with Lucy. The ability to observe a dog and then create personalized training plan is a true skill. When it comes to our animals, we have never trusted anyone more. Thank you for helping guide us on our training journey and we cannot wait to continue learning together.”
